MENTOR COACHING SPECIALIST
Which do I choose?
Two path to achieve the ICF MCS badge:
Path 1: Standard Path 42 hours training; Path 2: Credit for Prior Leaning (12 hours training)
Path 1 (Standard)
STANDARD PATH:
For coaches newer to mentoring. It requires 41+ hours of mentor coach education (at least 50% synchronous) and relevant ICF evaluation training.
Path 2 (CPL)
CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING:
For experienced mentor coaches. It requires 10 hours of mentor coaching education, completion of ICF evaluation training (ACC BARS, PCC Markers, or MCC BARS), and evidence of 5 credentialed clients in the past three years or a letter of attestation.
MCS Curriculum Structure
Synchronous Training Sessions
Five sessions conducted over Zoom
2 hours per session for CPL Path
4.5 hours per session for Standard Path
Asynchronous Training Sessions
Reading and video materials
10+ hours CPL Path
21 hours for Standard Path

6 Mentor Coaching Competencies
Listen for Evidence in ACC, PCC or MCC coaches
Provide constructive developmental feedbacks
